There is nothing wrong with capitalism. It has the ability to fashion marvelous economies. Sprout businesses and jobs everywhere and create a better life for everyone but it can also foster the proliferation of greed.
With capitalism, corporations have the ability to operate with what I call a ‘bottom line mentality’ that can be easily disconnected from any sort of human emotion, especially that which pertains to the good of people in general. This is where the 3000 mile oil change comes into play.
Nowadays, the automotive industry is instructing new owners to change their oil at 5,000-7,000 mile intervals while on the other hand, the oil companies continue to maintain that oil changes are necessary every 3,000 miles.

The quickie lube would have to lay off half its employees or cut its hours of business in half. Please don’t let this be your downfall. If you run over to Wal Mart you can pick up a bottle of Mobil 1 Synthetic and read the back. Good for 15,000 miles! That’s five times what the others will have you believe.
