School Systems and Global Warming – Teaching Children About the Causes of Global Warming

Among all of the things that are being taught in our public schools, one thing that should have a little more time and dedication put into it is the subject of the natural causes of global warming along with the man made causes. These future grown-ups will need to understand just how serious global warming is, what impact humans have on it and what we can and cannot change about the process if they are to succeed as adults. The more we understand about all of the causes of global warming, the better prepared we will be to end it.

Most people, including kids, would probably not be able to identify any of the common causes of global warming if you were to ask them to explain everything they knew about it. This is sad truly because these are the people in the years to come that will be able to possibly help control and stop the cause of global warming and we, as a nation, are not preparing them as much as we could be. In order to better prepare our children, our parents and teachers alike must make every effort to teach our future leaders, scientists and citizens everything that is currently known about the causes of global warming.

Getting Involved

Many school districts have done the bare minimum to educate their students about global warming, and if you believe your school fits into this category, then set time aside to attend the next PTA meeting so you can raise your concerns. A meeting directly with the principal is also a good way to make sure that your concerns are expressed about what our young people are and are not learning about their planet. It is vital that we teach everything we possibly know on the cause of global warming so that we can all take responsibility for our actions on the environment.

Even after you have those meetings to discuss your feelings about what should be taught if the subject of global warming you should not stop there. Make sure your children are well educated on the topic of global warming by providing lessons at home through your own words and actions. Only so much can be done within the schools so it is important to make sure that you are addressing a lot of the major issues at home to make sure that everything is reinforced. It is your job as the parent to make sure that your children receive the education that they need in order to grow into strong educated adults.

Chicken Coop Plan – It’s All in the Drawing

Chicken coops are very important when you are raising chickens because this is basically where they live. Usually, these housing structures are built with nesting boxes where the chickens lay their eggs and a bird perch for them to sleep on. There is an ongoing debate as what a chicken coops real purpose is and the side that you choose will tell you the things you need to know about chicken coop building plans.

 

There is a group of people who believe that chickens are strong animals that can withstand outdoor conditions and that they cannot be confined in a chicken coop that is dark and has a poor ventilation system. If you agree to this, then your chicken coop should be built from material that is light and airy. The coop also has to be large enough so your hens can move around. You should calculate at least 4 square feet for every chicken you are going to keep.

Another group of people believe that chickens cannot withstand the outdoors and are prone to illness when exposed to the elements. These people believe that a chicken coop has to be sturdy in order to protect the animals from the climate. This means that the materials you would use are heavy and can prevent wind drafts.

 

The thinking of these 2 groups of people will lead to different designs in chicken coop building plans. One chicken coop design has to be large with windows that allow ventilation and the other chicken coop design has to have windows that can be shut to control the ventilation.

 

It does not matter which arguments you agree to as long as you do not forget about the most important thing: Protecting your chickens welfare.. You should keep in mind that by keeping your chickens healthy and feeling comfortable, you will increase the number of eggs they lay. And in the end this is what you want.
