Light oak furniture looks great in every home, but it needs to be looked after properly. Whether you have a wooden desktop, or a cabinet, coffee table or wooden chairs, using lemon tree oil is the way to go. Lemon oil helps protect the wood, along with giving a beautiful look to wooden furniture. It has many uses, and can be used on finished and unfinished wood.
Lemon oil can help remove stains on wood furniture, along with preventing cracking on your wood. So, cleaning wood furniture is quite simple, it’s just knowing which products to use. More good reasons to use lemon oil – it will also give your furniture a nice scent as well! Take a feather duster. If there’s a lot of dust on your wooden furniture, dust it off first or use a vacuum instead. (If it’s a sideboard or wardrobe that’s been down in your basement for a while you’ll probably need a vacuum, especially if it has cobwebs all over it).
Pick a lemon oil to use. If you want to make a recipe, you can but you want to pick a product that contains real lemon oil. Be sure that it does, so before picking an oil here’s a few lemon oils to choose.
- Lemon Oil: Can be used on wall panelling, doors, and kitchen cabinets. According to the directions, best only to use once or twice a year on tabletops or desks.
- Old English Lemon Oil furniture polish: Can be used against all natural woods.
- Natural Lemon Oil polish: This oil can be real useful for picnic benches, or wooden furniture out-of-doors. It contains a sunscreen protector.
How to apply the oil:
- Take a dry rag and apply about a tablespoon of lemon oil but don’t use too much .
- Then wipe the entire surface of the furniture until it gives you that nice and shiny look to it. If you have any watermark stains on your wood furniture, you might need to apply some other cleaning products. Some simple steps include:
- Take some baking soda, and a little salt.
- Sprinkle it on the stain. Take an old toothbrush. Dip it into warm water. Try brushing out the stain. Then wipe it with some lemon oil.
- Using real toothpaste can help remove stains as well. Just take a little toothpaste, add it to the stain, then brush it.
Always use coasters to help prevent scratches on the wood, especially on high value items such as wooden desks for home.
