A while ago I purchased a new Toyota Tundra and I wanted to move a lot things around with it. I have to admit that the trunk is just like a dumpster, you will be able to find all kinds of garbage like stuff in it, sometimes I think I am just a hoarder! I tried to load them up in an ordered fashion but it was proved that my effort was futile. When I was looking at the dump site, I was just amazed by myself, I actually did this! Then it occurred to me that I couldn’t get on my way like this, What would happen to me if I did drive like this? you could imagine the whole mess would collapse onto the road and might cause accident, or before anything could happen I would be stopped by a police officer and get ticketed.
Let’s see what I could do now, I could start over and try to tidy them up and tie them down or simply find something to hold them together, OK, even I start over I still will have to find something to secure the load, these choices actually mean one thing, I need some cargo control stuff for my pick up. Would I have to buy something like 4600lbs working load limit binder chain or 3333lbs ratcheting strap ? Not likely. No heavy duty stuff needed here, what I need is something which can safe guard the stuff in the trunk.
I dived into the tie down world for something can be used with my pick up and the tie downs may not to overkill for my situation, first I came across 1” ratchet straps, 6 or 9 feet, but with 2000 or 3000lb strength they were overkill in a sense, though there were not expensive at all, cam buckle tie downs were not better in this sense, all I could see was something too much in strength, too little in real world use, the 1” ratchet straps won’t be able to do anything to the huge mess, only would bring more chaos. Small pieces need something like a net to hold them together, not tie downs. Fortunately I found this darling cargo net , with the size 60”x84”(5′x7′) , which is a perfect match, It’s real easy to hold stuff with cargo net, just put the net on the stack, get the hooks hooked on the truck, done. Of course when we’re talking about cargo net we have to mention bungee cord , actually the cargo net are made of connected bungee cords. In a nutshell, the small cargo nets and bungee cords are light duty tie downs made just for the purpose of holding together and tying down small but irregular loads such as the pickup truck mess in my case. And you can put these light duty tie downs to some creative use as you see fit, they are just perfect for passenger cars and small trucks.
