How are you going to find food?  You’ll need a rifle or shotgun and a handgun is smart.  Also you’ll need to acquire a good long bow and arrows plus arrowheads just in case the electricity doesn’t get turned on for years. One might develop some basic skills that will help them become a decent marksman and have the ability to hit game. 

According to the state in which you live, you should start out by contacting the government office and get a weapons permit. Every state has varying regulations which govern the decisions as to whether someone can legally own a handgun, rifle or shotgun. Once again, the local cop shop will lead you in the right path.

If you are going to purchase large amounts of ammo, it may be in your best interest to get it with greenbacks so as to leave no record to alarm authorities. Furthermore, never buy any tremendous amount of ammo at one time from the same location.

Psychological testing documented that 90% of people will steal if they sense they have a perceived need and can justify their behavior and feel they can go safely unexposed. This means anything of value you possess can be a lure to those without what they need under extreme conditions. You’ll need to have good hiding places for your supplies that are exceptionally difficult for others to find. Get emergency food supplies and keep them is a safe location

If you are displaced and need to live on the road for months, you’ll need a supply of clothes, shoes, and bare necessities. People who travel the lightest, travel the farthest. You may need to disappear quickly  in order to escape violence. When the food supplies in the Eastern cities dry up, hoards of vigilantes will descend on even the peaceful Amish harshly.

The government will be powerless and atrocities will be committed by both sides. Vigilantes as well as collateral damage to civilians will result.  Make the effort to have a survival pack for you and your family for a disaster contingency.
