Bosh have been manufacturing washing machines for decades now. They are known for producing top quality machines in the higher end price bracket . Bosh are originally a German company, although these days they are global manufacturers.

In the past anyone who owned a Bosh washing machine could honestly say they owned a quality appliance, but they would have paid a premium price to own one back then .

The bottom line for   manufacturing companies is to make a profit, that’s the whole point of them being in business. There always is a balance between the cost to produce , the reliability of the appliance and the profit to be made.

Anyone can make a perfect washing machine that will never break down, but it will cost a lot of money to produce and manufacturess know that when they have to charge a price that includes a healthy profit for them, the machine will be too expensive for most people and they will sell very few of them.

A balance has to be reached between the cost of producing the machine and the price customers will pay for it. Too expensive will mean very few sales and too cheap can mean badly made, unreliable and very quickly they will get a name for making cheap, machines which are unreliable .

I have watched Bosh go from being one of the top 5 washing machine producers in the world, to being one of the just average and back into the top 5 again.

This happens to all companies sooner or later . It is sometimes caused by merely a cut in the quality and materials they use as a way to cut costs and make greater profits. Sometimes it is caused by them trying out new manufacturing processes and sometimes they are simply trying to push the boundaries of technology too far.

Bosh have suffered all of these problems and more. 5 years ago, the owners of Bosh washing machines were finding more problems and faults than would be expected . They went through a period of expecting to sell machines based on the strength of the brand name of Bosh , without backing it up with the reliability expected from them.

I am glad to say, Bosh seem to have sorted all their problems and whilst they don’t have the absolute best washing machine in the world. They do these days make a very very good one indeed.

As an Engineer I can in all honesty say. “Bosh once again make one of the best washing machines for the money you can buy “
